昨日の英語の多読について。
昨日もOxford Reading Treeの「Look Smart」と「Wet paint」を読みました。
Look Smart
ストーリーは、ママが子供達のために洋服を買って来たたところから始まります。
タイトルにあるようにママは新しい服を子供達に着せて「Smart」に見せたかったみたい。
みんなが新しい服を試着している時に何かが起こる？
初めの文章が「Mum had been shopping」でスタート！
そしてこのストーリーでママが繰り返し言っているセリフがこれ。
これを覚えて欲しいのかな？と。
- I want you to look smart.
その他にもいくつか「これをこの本で覚えてね！」というイディオムがあります。ここではネタバレになるので、これだけ紹介！
それから、気になったイディオムがコレ。
- set off for….
英英辞書によると。。。
「set off (for something）」は。。。

ストーリーはパパがドアをペイントしているのだけど、子供達が。。。
よくある話で想像つくと思います。。。（笑）
パパはかなりお疲れ気味。。。
ペイントって本当に気を使いますよね。。。
